HORSE SHOW RULES
2010

1. Age of rider is as of January 1st of current year.

2. Boots and jeans are required.

3. Year End Hi-point awards are counted on horse/rider combination (must be a paid member in good standing).

4. Use of bats, whips, quirts, reins, etc is optional as long as not on the face or head of horse. (NO EXCESSIVE use as determined by the board)

5. Horse must break down in stride after entering the gate before starting your run. Gate does not need to be shut.

6. Broken pattern is disqualification.

7. Touching or steadying of obstacle with hand is disqualification.

8. 5 second penalty for knocking of obstacle.

9. Kicking horse should have a red ribbon on tail.

10. Abuse of horses will NOT be tolerated! (may be asked to leave)

11. Current coggins test is required (MN state law within 1 year).

12. May ride up to 3 horses per person but must pay extra entry.

13. Anyone can share a horse but each person must pay own entry fee, (please keep horses well being in mind) especially on hot days.

14. Riders should have control of their own horse (riding double in a class is not allowed).

15. Young kids may have someone walk along side their horse in case they need help, but if that person leads or touches the horse then the rider will place after those that ride alone.

16. No alcohol will be allowed on during the show. Anyone caught consuming alcohol and riding will be asked to leave and forfeit any points and entry fees for the day. (Insurance requirement)

17. No running horses on the road or the outer grassy areas.

18. Breaking a rule will result in a disqualification for that event.

19. We request appropriate & respectful clothing-this is a family show.
